This tutorial will review the process of changing the favicon image on your vBulletin website. This will make your website more professional in front of your users. It will also allow you to design your own favicon image, which will make your brand more popular.
The first thing you can do is to design your favicon image. You can use a software such as Photoshop, Paint or anything else that you like using. The important thing is to make the favicon image 16x16 pixels. You also need to convert it to .ico format and you can use a few online tools for that: here, here and here.
When your favicon.ico image is ready, you can proceed uploading it to your website. You can do that via the File Manager service within your cPanel account or via FTP.
There are two ways of uploading your files to the server - using an FTP client, following our FTP tutorial, or uploading directly through your cPanel account > File Manager, following our cPanel tutorial.
Upload favicon image Simply access the directory, where you have installed vBulletin. You will notice a file called favicon.ico. Rename that file and upload your custom favicon image on it’s place.
Congratulations, you have successfully changed the favicon of your vBulletin based website.
