It is important to generate a full backup of your Cinematico website whenever you make major changes on it. This will save you a lot of headaches as if something goes wrong, you will be able to restore your website to a working state again.
In Cinematico, the creation of a backup is easy as it is not using a database at all. You simply need to download the files and folders of your actual website.
For example, if the domain name on your account is example.com and when you type it into your web browser you are accessing your website directly, this will indicate that your Cinematico installation is located within the public_html/ directory of your account. In this case, you need to download the entire directory on your local computer, using your favourite FTP client.
However, if your website is accessible via a link, such as example.com/video, this will indicate that there is a “video” subfolder within the public_html/ directory of your account. In this case, you only need to download the “video” directory on your local computer, using your favourite FTP client.
There are two ways of downloading your files to the server - using an FTP client, following our FTP tutorial, or downloading them directly through your cPanel account > File Manager, following our cPanel tutorial.
