London and Singapore Hosting Nodes Maintenance Scheduled
We recently received several Security Advisories that require us to perform updates to our host servers. In order to apply the updates, hosts must be rebooted. The Security Advisories will be publicly released on October 29th, therefore we must complete the updates before that date.
Reasons for Security Updates
These security updates are required to protect the safe operations of not only our infrastructure but also our clients’ websites and hosting accounts. We understand that disruption with such short notice is inconvenient but these measures are required due to the importance of this security advisories.
The following servers have assigned maintenance window in which a reboot will occur:
Datacenter Location: Singapore, SG
Host Node: sg1.fcomet.com
Maintenance Window Time: 2015-10-22 2:00:00 PM UTC
Datacenter Location: London, UK
Host Node: uk1.fcomet.com
Maintenance Window Time: 2015-10-23 9:00:00 PM UTC
Note: Clients’ websites hosted on other locations or hosting servers will not be affected during the process.
During the maintenance window, the hosting servers will be cleanly shut down while we perform the updates. Clients’ websites will be inaccessible during this time. A two-hour window is allocated, however, the actual downtime can be much less.
Unfortunately, due to the nature of the maintenance, the assigned window is not changeable and the host reboots are mandatory.
